Prayer For Protection
Introduction
I believe that we are all being guided and protected during these unsettling times. It’s so important to do everything we can to protect ourselves right now, including the mental and emotional efforts of remaining present, calm, and optimistic. I keep a long list of prayers and affirmations on my phone which I regularly read through – they help me stay positive in light of all the fear surrounding us. Here is one of my favorite affirmations:
Takeaway:
I stand with the power of the Almighty God to combat on every side by His divine power.

I stand with the power of the Almighty God to combat on every side by His divine power.
I stand with the power of the Almighty God to combat on every side by His divine power.
I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
- Know that God is your strength: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Phil. 4:13)
- Believe that God is your strength: “I believe in God, the Father Almighty.” (Athanasian Creed)
- Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might: For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for were we living according to it, we would not be able to fight against it; but since our weapons are divinely powerful by means of faith, when we battle against evil forces, they do not prevail over us; rather we triumph over them. (2 Cor 10:3-5)
Let the name of the Lord be praised from now and forever more.
Dear God,
Thank you for hearing my prayer. Thank you for protecting me. I know that sometimes things look dark and scary, but I know that you are there with me and will guide my steps as I walk through this journey of life. Please help me to trust in your wisdom, love and power. Help me to let go of worry about what might happen at any given moment; instead help me focus on keeping an attitude of gratitude for what is good in my life right now.”
For He is my fortress, the God who shows me unfailing love.
Thank God for His unfailing love.
Ask for the protection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Pray that He would keep you from harm and shield you from danger. Trust in His power to protect you as He has promised: “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways” (Psalm 91:11).
God desires us to live our lives knowing that He loves us, so much so that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into this world through the womb of a virgin, who was given life by God Himself (John 3:16). Because of this amazing gift we call Christmas and the birth of Jesus Christ on earth, we can rest in knowing that God has a plan for each one of us!
He upholds me because He knows my name.
God knows the name of each one of us. He knows our thoughts, our feelings, and our emotions. He knows our desires and needs. He knows our wants and dreams. He knows our hurts and pains. He knows our failures and successes—and that’s why he can help us overcome them!
He upholds me because he KNOWS me.
When I call out to Him, He will answer me; He says, “I know you by name and you are mine.”
In this prayer, you are speaking directly to God. You are also expressing your faith in Him and acknowledging that He exists. You can know that He will answer your prayers because of His love for you and His desire to see you succeed in all aspects of your life.
When I call out to Him, He will answer me; He says, “I know you by name and you are mine.”
You may not always feel like the answers come when we want them to—and sometimes the things we pray for don’t turn out how we expected—but it’s important to keep asking anyway. We don’t always get immediate answers, but as long as we continue doing our part (praying), God will do His part (answering). It’s also important not to give up when something isn’t working out the way we hoped or expected—just keep praying!
When I feel powerless or threatened, I will call on Him and send Him a prayer for protection.

- Prayer is a powerful resource to use. It is through prayer that we receive strength to face any challenge we encounter in life. There is no greater power than God, so it’s okay to ask for help when you need it most! Prayer can be used in many ways:
- You can pray out loud with others or by yourself in silence
- You can write down your questions and concerns about whatever situation you are facing, and then read them aloud as if you were reading them to an audience (this type of prayer often brings clarity)
- Or you might choose instead just enjoy spending time meditating quietly with God
The Lord is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life — whom should I dread?
The Lord is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life — whom should I dread?
Psalm 27:1-3 (NIV)
The LORD is your light and salvation; who better to trust than the God who led Moses through the Red Sea, Elijah out of danger, David through all his battles with Goliath? To you he gives peace, security, protection. You don’t need to worry: No harm will come your way as long as you put your faith in him.
There may be those who plot against me when they come like a destroying flood; but they will fall down before You, O Lord.
There may be those who plot against me when they come like a destroying flood; but they will fall down before You, O Lord.
For they will not prevail against You in judgment; Your eyes are too pure to look on evil, and You can not look on wrong.
The Lord is there for you. He is always ready to come to your rescue. He will fight for you when you are unable to fight for yourself and lift you up when you fall down. The Lord will always be there for you
You are always with me, holding my right hand. My soul magnifies your name Lord in all ways
There are many things we can pray for. For example, we can pray that our loved ones will be healed or free from danger. We can also pray that God would give us strength to remain faithful in difficult situations. Other times, you may find yourself praying for yourself because of a problem you are facing—you may be afraid or confused about something and need help with your feelings. In this case, the most important thing is to have faith and trust in God’s love for you and his desire to help you have victory over whatever problem it is that concerns you.
We know from experience that prayer works! If someone prays sincerely about something and has faith in God’s power to do what he promises (see Ephesians 3:20), then good things will happen as a result of his prayer being answered!
It’s okay to ask for help from above
You are not the only one who feels like this. There are a lot of people out there who are hurting and feel alone, but there is always a way to get through it. You don’t have to feel strong all the time, sometimes you need help from someone else. It’s okay to ask for help from a higher power or anyone who can help you through your hard times.
Conclusion
Remember, God is there for you and He will always protect you. Don’t feel afraid or alone because He will be by your side no matter what.
