What To Do When Your Bored As A Christian

What To Do When Your Bored As A Christian

Introduction

Sometimes when we are bored and a Christian, it’s hard to find something to do. I’ve been there and maybe you have too. This is why I’m happy to share with you some things that have helped me when I was bored and a Christian.

Think about Jesus and His love.

When you’re bored, think about Jesus.

He is the reason we are saved, and the reason we are here. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is our friend, who sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24). He can heal us from all of our diseases (Psalm 103:3), deliver us from all of our troubles (Psalm 34:17), provide whatever we need (Philippians 4:19), comfort in times of grief or stress with His peace that passes understanding (John 14:27).

Spend time in God’s word.

The Bible is a great resource that can be used to get closer to God and learn more about Him. It will also help you grow in your faith by learning not only about Jesus, but all the other important people who are mentioned throughout His Word. The Bible contains many stories of different people from different cultures and backgrounds who all had something in common: they were saved by Jesus Christ.

Prayer.

Prayer is a conversation with God, and it can be anything you want. You may pray for spiritual growth, for your family and friends, or for the needs of others. You can thank God for the many blessings he has given you. You can also ask him to forgive your sins and to help you follow his will in life.

Prayer puts us into contact with our Creator—it’s a way we communicate with God through prayer. Through prayer, we are able to communicate our gratitude towards God as well as ask him for guidance on how best to live our lives according to his will (Matthew 6:8).

Set a goal for the day.

If you have not yet set a goal for your day, then now is the time to do so. The best thing to do is to make a list of things you want or need to accomplish in one day, and then prioritize those tasks. Make sure that your goals are achievable within one day, and try not to overdo it by setting too many goals for yourself at once. If possible, it may also be helpful if you can set a goal that will benefit both your physical body as well as spiritual health (such as exercising regularly).

There are many ways in which Christians can use their time wisely and effectively when they realize that they have nothing else planned for their days. Once again: make sure that whatever you choose fits into what God wants from us!

Read a book.

Reading is one of the best ways to relax and unwind, especially when you’re bored. You can go to your local library or book store and pick up any number of books, from fiction to non-fiction. Reading will help you expand your mind, learn new things about the world around you and improve your overall health.

Watch a movie or TV series.

Watch a movie or TV series.

  • Choose a film or show that will help you grow in your faith. The Bible tells us to be “quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger” (James 1:19). Watching TV is one of the easiest ways to get ourselves angry, so it’s important that we choose shows that are uplifting and edifying instead of those that feed our fleshly desires. For example, movies like The Lion King, Finding Nemo and Up are great because they tell stories about faithful families who love God and each other without being too preachy about it; however, if you want something more serious than animated animals singing songs about how much they love their friends/family members then try watching something like Ant Man & The Wasp! It’s also worth noting here that Netflix has quite a few Christian-themed titles available now too so don’t forget those when thinking about what else might work for your tastes!

Listen to music or podcasts.

  • Listen to Christian music.
  • Listen to podcasts.
  • Listen to music you enjoy, regardless of whether or not it’s about God.
  • Listen to new music that you haven’t heard before (and maybe even put some money towards these artists).
  • Listen to music that focuses on God’s love and grace, perhaps asking yourself what this means for your life today.

Go for a walk or run.

One of the best ways to get through boredom is to use it as an opportunity to exercise. A walk or run in your neighborhood can provide some much-needed energy and help you clear your mind. It also has the added benefit of getting you outside, where it’s easier to find God’s peace when everything else seems chaotic and busy. If you’re lucky enough to live near a park, try taking a friend with you so that when one of you gets tired, there will be someone else who can keep them company until they feel like going again. Just remember that although exercise is good for the body (and soul), if taken too far it can end up being more frustrating than anything else!

Do some gardening.

One fun way to pass the time is to grow your own food. This can be challenging, but it’s also rewarding and fun. If you have a garden, make sure to fertilize your trees so they will grow taller.

You can help keep your plants healthy by pruning them every year in spring or fall, depending on how much sunlight they get throughout the year.

There are many different kinds of flowers that give off beautiful smells, so consider planting some if you want something pretty in addition to edible foods! You can also transplant plants from one location (like from your yard) into another (like inside).

If you’re interested in starting a new garden this year, consider planting seeds for things like carrots and peas; these are easy crops for beginners because they don’t require much watering during their growth period–they just need some sunshine!

Even if you’re bored, you can find ways to occupy yourself that are fun and non-sinful!

If you’re feeling bored and like your life is lacking purpose, there are plenty of things you can do to keep yourself occupied. If you have children, they will be a great source of entertainment. You can play with them or even just watch them play with each other and teach them valuable lessons about life.

If you don’t have any children, then I recommend finding a hobby or activity that makes money for you. For example, if you enjoy working with wood or metal, then perhaps starting a business selling custom furniture would be something fun and profitable for both yourself and others!

Whatever activities you choose to fill up your time with should not involve anything sinful. It’s important that we avoid watching TV shows or listening to music that glorifies sin; reading books where characters commit sins; spending too much time on social media (including posting religious memes); spending too much time on our phones (texting people instead of praying).

Conclusion

I hope that this article has been helpful for you in dealing with boredom.
